Egg pizza, Indian style pizza prepared with eggs, vegetables and Indian spices. We tried this pizza for breakfast at our friend's place during our recent visit to the USA. Spicy version was prepared with loads of green chilies and served with coriander leaves. Kids version was prepared very mild and served with grated cheese. Both versions were tasting fantastic and looked very yummy too.

  • 15 no’s – White button mushroom (1 small box)(chopped finely)
  • 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp – Pepper powder (or add as needed)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsp – Varuval podi / Kuzhambu milagai podi / Chicken masala / or add regular chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup – Coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt to taste
Seasonings:
  • 2 tbsp – Oil
  • 1/2 tsp – Jeera / Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp – Fennel seeds / Sombu
  • 2 tbsp – Curry leaves / Karuvepilai (chopped)
Kids Version:
Serves 4
  • 4 no’s  - Egg (beat well with required salt)
  • 1 no – Onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp – Ginger and garlic grated
  • 1/2 cup – Capsicum (chopped finely)
  • 1/2 cup – Mushrooms (chopped finely)
  • 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp – Pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves
  • Grated cheese for garnishing
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp – Oil (for seasoning)
  • 1/4 tsp – Jeera / Cumin seeds

Preparation method:
Spicy version :
  1. Beat the egg well along with required salt and set it aside.
  2. Heat oil in the pan, season it with jeera, fennel seeds, curry leaves and chopped chillies, saute it nicely.
  3. Add chopped onion and ginger garlic grated along with required salt, saute until they are translucent. Followed by chopped capsicums and mushrooms, saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add turmeric powder, pepper powder and varuval podi / chicken masala powder, saute until the raw smell goes.
  5. Add chopped coriander leaves and give a quick mix. Spread the vegetables all over the pan and pour the egg mixture on vegetables. Cover with a lid and cook until pizza is well cooked, check in between because egg takes very less time to cook.
  6. Switch off the stove, slice them like our regular pizza and add chopped coriander leaves on top, serve hot.
Kids version:
  1. Beat the egg well along with required salt and set it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, season with cumin seeds, add chopped onion and ginger garlic grated along with required salt, saute until they are slightly golden color.
  3. Add chopped capsicum and mushrooms, saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add turmeric powder and pepper powder, saute for few seconds.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves and give a quick mix. Spread the vegetables all over the pan and pour the egg mixture on vegetables. Cover with a lid and cook until pizza is well cooked, check in between because egg takes very less time to cook.
  5. Switch off the stove and slice them like our regular pizza. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated cheese on top, serve hot.

Notes:
  • You may try baking the same recipe in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until it is well cooked.
  • This recipe should be prepared over low or medium flame for best results. It may burn at the bottom when cooked over high flame.
  • Add spice powder as per your taste. We have used jalapeno peppers and Thai chillies for extra spicy and taste. It is completely optional. You may replace with our regular green chillies.
  • You may use any vegetable of your choice like green peas, tomato etc.
  • Do not add too much salt  while sautéing vegetables because we have already added little salt in eggs.
  • Always keep the flame in low or medium otherwise pizza will not get cooked inside.
