Health mix porridge / Sathu maavu kanji is a healthy drink prepared with health mix and buttermilk is a perfect drink for any hot summer day.

Ingredients:
Yields- 1 cup of kanji
      • 1 tbsp - Sathu maavu powder / health mix powder
      • 1 cup - Buttermilk
      • 1 or 2 pinch - Cumin seeds (optional)
      • 1 pinch - Asafoetida
      • Salt to taste

Preparation method:
  1. Take a tbsp of health mix powder and 1/2 cup of water in a vessel, mix well. Bring it to boil and cook until health mix powder is well cooked (as shown in the picture). Switch off the stove and allow them to cool completely.
  2. Now add buttermilk, required salt, cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida, mix well. Porridge is ready and serve with pickle or even with jaggery.

Notes:
  • I used home made health mix powder in this recipe. You can also use store bought one.
  • Cumin seed is completely optional in this recipe.
