Mango Iced tea / Iced tea with mango

Mango Iced tea is a refreshing drink prepared with fresh mango and tea, helps to beat the summer heat. Iced tea tastes really very good when it is freshly made. Please click the link for other summer drinks in my blog.

Mango Iced tea

Ingredients:

Serves 2

      • 1 cup – Mango (chopped)
      • 2 no’s – Tea bags or 2 tsp – Tea powder
      • 2 cups – Water
      • 4 to 5 no’s - Mint leaves
      • 1 tbsp – Lemon juice
      • 4 to 5 tbsp – Sugar ( or add as per your taste)
      • 2 cups – Ice cubes (add as needed)
      • Mint leaves and lemon slices for garnishing

Preparation method:

  1. Transfer chopped mango to a blender, blend them to a puree. Keep it aside for later use.
  2. Take a sauce pan, add water and bring it to rolling boil, switch off the stove.
  3. Put tea bags inside and mint leaves, set it aside for 5 minutes or until you reach the required tea color.
  4. Add sugar (I have used organic sugar) and mix well thoroughly until sugar melts. Allow tea mixture to cool completely and then add lemon juice and mango puree, mix well thoroughly. Keep it in refrigerator until use.
  5. Now take a serving glasses, fill it with lot of ice cubes, few lemon / lime slices and few mint leaves (as shown in the picture). Finally pour tea over ice cubes and serve cold.

Notes:

  • I have used alphonso mango variety to make this Iced tea. Mango was very sweet and yummy that gave nice flavor and sweetness to the Iced tea.
  • I have used Tetley orange pekoe tea bags that was very perfect for Iced tea.
  • You may increase or decrease the quantity of sugar and lemon juices as per your taste.
  • Mint leaves gives a nice flavour and will be refreshing too. Do not miss it.
  • Do not add too much tea powder or tea bags as it will give bitter taste.
