Dhokla is a staple food in Gujarat like our Idli and dosa is a staple food in Tamilnadu. In this post, I am combining both the foods together into one - Dhokla idli. Quiet interesting right! Making chaat recipe with Dhokla idli to pack lunch.

- Khaman Dhokla batter (I have a recipe in my blog)
- Green chutney as needed (store bought one)
- Dates tamarind chutney (store bought one)
- 2 tbsp – Yogurt
- 2 tbsp – Coconut grated
- Chopped coriander leaves (as needed)
- 1 tsp – Coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp – Mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp – Jeera/Cumin
- Pinch of asafoetida/Hing
Preparation method:
- Take a mixing bowl, add Khaman dhokla flour and enough water, mix well thoroughly to make a smooth batter.
- Apply ghee on a idli platter, pour the batter and steam the idli for 7 mins or until well cooked. Allow them to cool and take the idlies out.
- Take a lunch box, add mini dhokla idli, green chutney on top, beaten yogurt, dates tamarind chutney, add seasonings,coconut grated, and garnish with coriander leaves. Mini dhokla idli chaat is ready to pack.
Notes:
- You may add pomegranate,nylon sev, or anything you may like to add.
- You may make any dhokla of your choice. In my blog, I have already posted recipe for Rava dhokla.
