Street style grilled veggie sandwich

Street food style grilled sandwich prepared with the vegetable patties, homemade green chutney and burger bun. If you like street food sandwiches, definitely you will like this video.

For making veggie Patties: Ingredients: Serves 4 to 6
  • 2 medium - Potato (boiled)
  • 1 cup - Paneer (grated)
  • 1/2 cup - Frozen green peas
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup - Green Beans (chopped)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup - Carrot (grated)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup - Beetroot (grated)
  • 1 no - Onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Garlic chopped
  • 1 no - Green chilies chopped
  • 1 handful - Mint leaves
  • 1 handful - Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Red chili powder (or add as needed)
  • 1 1/2 tsp - Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp - Chaat masala
  • 4 to 5 tbsp - Besan/gram flour (as a binding agent)
  • 1 to 2 tbsp - Cashew nuts chopped
  • 1 to 2 tbsp - Raisin chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to brush the patties

Preparation method:
  1. Dry roast the besan /gram flour/ kadala maavu over low flame until it releases nice aroma. Do not over roast. Color of besan should not change.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger,garlic, green chilies and onion chopped, saute until the color changes. Followed by all the vegetables, saute for a minute and cover with a lid. Cook until the vegetables are soft.
  3. Finally add handful of mint leaves and coriander leaves, saute for a minute and switch off the stove.
  4. Allow them to cool completely and grind the mixture in a blender to a slightly fine paste. Transfer the ground paste to a mixing bowl. Add boiled potato, grated paneer, cashew nuts, raisins, followed by all the spice powders and salt. finally add the roasted besan powder and mix well thoroughly using hands.
  5. Squeeze some lemon juice at the end and continue to mix well. Apply oil in your hands and take a big ball and try to make patties as shown in the video.
  6. Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes. Then place the patties and brush with oil on top and air fry for 5 to 10 mins or until it is well cooked and crispy on top. Now veggie patties are ready.

For grilled sandwich:


  • Burger bun as needed
  • Green chutney as needed (recipe available in my channel)
  • Tamarind dates chutney as needed
  • Tomato slices as needed
  • Onion slices as needed
  • Onion chopped for garnishing
  • Nylon sev as needed
  • Mayonnaise as needed
  • Chaat masala as needed
  • Coriander leaves chopped as needed
  • Butter as needed

Preparation method:
  1. Apply green chutney on one side of the bun and mayonnaise on the other side. Place the patties, onion slices, tomato slices, tamarind dates chutney, chaat masala, sev, chopped coriander leaves and close the bun.
  2. Heat the panini grill, apply some butter on top and bottom of the bun and grill it.
  3. Now plate it and decorate it with tamarind dates chutney, chopped onion, tomato, sev, chaat masala, and coriander leaves as shown in the video. Yummy street style veggie grilled sandwich is ready.
