📝 Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered cashews
- Few strands of saffron
- 1/2 cup ghee
Step 1: Dry Roast Gram Flour
- In a pan, dry roast 1/2 cup of gram flour (besan) on low flame for 3–4 minutes until aromatic.
- Sieve the flour into a heavy-bottomed cooking pan to avoid lumps.
Step 2: Add Milk and Mix
- Gradually add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of milk, a little at a time, mixing continuously to form a smooth paste.
Step 3: Add Sugar and Cashew Powder
- Add 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of powdered cashew nuts.
- Add a few strands of saffron for flavor and color. Mix everything well.
Step 4: Cook the Mixture
- Turn on the heat and cook on medium to low flame for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Stir constantly to avoid sticking or lumps as the mixture thickens.
Step 5: Add Ghee
- Gradually add 1/2 cup of ghee in intervals while stirring.
- Continue until the mixture reaches a condensed milk-like consistency.
Step 6: Final Steps
- Switch off the stove and keep stirring for another 2 minutes.
- Let it cool for 20 minutes. The mixture will thicken as it rests.
Step 7: Serve
Once set, scoop or spoon the Thirupagam into a serving dish. Enjoy as a prasadam or festive sweet!
