Coconut ladoo/Thengai laddu

Coconut ladoo/Thengai laddu is a popular street snacks in Southern part of Tamilnadu. It is simple and yummy ladoo with just 4 ingredients.

Yields around 10 to 15 ladoos
  • 2 cups - Coconut, grated
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1 to 2 tsp – Ghee
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom powder

Preparation method:
  1. Heat a tsp of ghee in a pan, add 2 cups of grated coconut, saute for 5 minutes or until the moisture from coconut is dried slightly.
  2. Add 1 cup of jaggery,cook over medium flame until the jaggery melts and everything is combined well. Add1/8 tsp cardamom powder and mix well.
  3. Continue to cook until the mixture starts to hold shape. Switch off the stove.Make gooseberry sized ladoo when it is warm.
  4. Once cool down, store it in an airtight container for a week. Else store it in refrigerator. Enjoy your coconut ladoos!

  • You may add some nuts to make your ladoo crunchy and tasty.
  • Cook over medium flame to make ladoo perfectly.
