Preparation method:

For paneer fry:

  1. Take a mixing bowl, add maida, corn flour, red chilli powder, baking soda and salt, mix well to form a thick batter (like bajji batter) to coat paneer. Batter should not be too thick or too thin.

For making chilli paneer:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds. Add chopped onion and capsicum, saute until they are 3/4 done.
  2. Then add soya sauce, chilli garlic sauce, tomato sauce and required salt, saute until raw smell goes.
  3. Now add deep fried paneer and saute to stir fry for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with spring onion and serve hot.

Notes:

  • Do not over crowd paneer while deep frying them.
  • You can replace chilli garlic sauce with pepper powder or chilli sauce.
  • If you kept paneer in freezer, then take it outside and thaw it for a while before deep fry them.
  • You can also add a tsp of vinegar or lemon juice in this recipe.
  • You can also shallow fry paneer cubes instead of deep-frying them to reduce the calories of this dish.

  5. Ohh! Regretted not seeing this recipe earlier. I could have made it for tomorrow for our vegetarian meal. Paneer isn't that popular over here because we have so many different types of tofu. I shall try with it for the same delicious flavors. Thanks for the recipe. I'm going crazy deciding on which and what veg dish to make anymore.
